A Statement from Christopher Ahn

Last week, the DOJ and State Department chose not to appeal the court’s decision to stop my extradition, and I am now officially free.

After seven long years of fear, uncertainty, and pain, this nightmare has finally come to an end. I am grateful to share that I am now a free man.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who stood by me throughout this long and difficult process. Your financial support, prayers, advocacy, and belief in me carried me through more than I can fully express.

I am especially grateful to the extraordinary legal teams at Bird Marella and Manatt for their tireless work, unwavering commitment, and for fighting on my behalf without ever letting me lose hope.

The last seven years have been exhausting. For now, my focus is on moving forward and getting back to my life.

With gratitude,

Christopher Ahn
